This Privacy Policy explains how the HEIC to JPG Android app (the "App"), published by Teknical Engineers, handles your information. In short: your photos never leave your device, and the App itself collects no personal data. The App is free and supported by ads, and the third-party ad service it uses (Google AdMob) does collect some device information — that is described below.
The App itself collects, stores and transmits nothing. It has no user accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no tracking of its own. It never sees or uploads your photos.
The one exception is advertising: to show ads, Google's advertising service collects device-level information, including your device's Advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and interactions with the ads shown. This data is collected and used by Google, not by us — we never receive it, and it is never linked to your photos or to anything you convert.
All photo conversion happens entirely on your device. The photos you select are read locally, converted to JPG, and saved back to your device's gallery (Pictures/HEIC to JPG). Your photos are never uploaded to any server and never leave your device. Conversion works fully offline; an internet connection is only used to load ads.
The App displays ads through Google AdMob. Two kinds of ads are shown: a full-screen ad after a batch of photos has finished converting, and an optional rewarded video you may choose to watch to unlock background conversion. Ads are never shown before or during a conversion, and no feature you need in order to convert photos is ever placed behind an ad.
Google may use the Advertising ID and related device data to serve and measure ads, including personalised ads where you have consented to that. You can learn more here:
Where required by law (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the App asks for your consent for personalised advertising the first time you open it, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time from Settings → Privacy options inside the App.
On any device, you can also reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation entirely, from Android Settings → Google → Ads.
The App requests no storage permissions. It reads only the specific files you choose through Android's system photo picker, and saves converted files through the system media library.
It declares a notification permission, which is only requested if you unlock background conversion, so it can show the conversion progress notification; and the foreground-service permissions that background conversion needs. The Google Mobile Ads SDK adds the advertising ID permission described above.
The only third-party SDKs in the App are Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Google's User Messaging Platform (for the consent form), plus Google Play's in-app update library. We do not share any information with any other third party, and we never share your photos with anyone.
The App is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal data from children.
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to delete. To remove the ad-related identifier described above, reset or delete your Advertising ID in Android Settings, or uninstall the App.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new "Last updated" date.
