Privacy Policy — Battery Alarm
1. Information we collect
None. Battery Alarm does not collect, store on our servers, transmit, share, or sell any
personal information or usage data. The app does not include the Android
INTERNET permission, which means it has no ability to communicate over the
network at all.
2. Data stored locally on your device
To do its job, the app saves the following only on your own device:
- Your alarms and settings — target percentages, ringtones you picked, theme, language, temperature unit, and similar preferences.
- Charging history — start/end time and battery percentages of your charging sessions, so the app can show them to you.
- Optional anti-theft PIN — if you set one, it is stored only as a salted SHA-256 hash, never as plain text.
This data never leaves your device through the app. It is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
3. Device backups
If you use Android's built-in backup (managed by Google and tied to your Google account), your device may include the app's settings in that backup so they can be restored on a new phone. That backup is handled entirely by Android and Google — we have no access to it. You can disable device backups in your phone's system settings.
4. Permissions the app uses, and why
| Permission | Why the app needs it |
|---|---|
| Notifications | To show the monitoring status and ring the alarm. |
| Foreground service | To keep watching the battery level/temperature reliably while the app is in the background. |
| Vibration | To vibrate when an alarm rings (if you enable it). |
| Run at startup | To resume your active alarms after the phone reboots. |
| Full-screen alerts | To show the alarm screen over the lock screen when an alarm rings. |
| Ignore battery optimizations (optional, asked in-app) | So aggressive battery savers don't silently stop your alarms. |
The optional flashlight-blink alert uses the system torch switch, which requires no camera permission. The app never accesses your camera, photos, microphone, contacts, location, files, or any other personal content.
5. Analytics, advertising and third parties
The app contains no advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party trackers. Since the app has no network access, no third party receives anything from it.
6. Children's privacy
The app is suitable for general audiences and collects no data from anyone, including children.
7. Your choices and data deletion
- All app data lives on your device. To erase it, clear the app's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app.
- Every permission above can be revoked in Android settings; the app will keep working with reduced functionality (for example, alarms may not ring without notification permission).
8. Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects privacy (for example, if a future version adds a network feature), we will update this page and revise the effective date above before that version is released.
